GENERAL PURPOSE

Under the direction of the Supervisor of Key Vendor Relations, facilitates the implementation and planning process and the related flow of information (including state and federal regulations, BCBSA communications, corporate project updates, etc.) between BCBSWY staff, Management, External Vendors, and project teams and participants. Provides support to management on matters relating to the planning, development and implementation of programs and projects on a corporate wide basis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES [Core 25d]

  • Responsible for the distribution of project/implementation information.
  • Develops project plans for corporate initiatives and ensures required deadlines are met.
  • Maintains and creates documentation related to project/program requirements, status, and decisions.
  • Leads and/or participates on teams and workgroups to define, develop and implement enterprise-wide programs and products as assigned.
  • Assists with major accounts and customers (members, boards, providers) in areas not specifically designated as the responsibility of the Sales Area or as may be required for a program or project.
  • Works with external vendors regarding implementation of corporate based projects.
  • Performs testing required to ensure successful implementation of corporate projects.
  • Participates in the prioritization of projects and adherence to the corporate budget.
  • Assists with completion and maintenance of Board Reports and Corporate Strategy document.
  • Performs analysis and research of various subjects as assigned.
  • Assists management with resolution of internal program or project issues.
  • Assist with departmental tasks and activities as needed.
  • Works towards quality initiatives.

  • Special projects as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITY: [Core 25b]

The ability to learn, understand, and apply information about the insurance industry, products marketed by BCBSWY, and various policy initiatives. Must possess the ability to balance the demands of multiple tasks, including workload prioritization and time management. Computer literate in Word, Excel, Access, Outlook e-mail and, following initial training, multiple proprietary operational software applications. Good written and verbal communication skills and analytic capabilities required.

EDUCATION, LICENSURE, OR FORMAL TRAINING: [Core 25a & 25c]

  • Bachelor’s Degree In healthcare administration, marketing, and/or business administration preferred. (3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar field will be considered in lieu of degree.)
  • A current, valid driver’s license is required.

EXPERIENCE: [Core 25a]

  • 1 to 3 years of health insurance experience preferred.
  • Two years business experience required.

MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:

PC, Fax, Phone, Copy Machine, Adding Machine or calculator.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

  • Must have the ability to work pleasantly in an office environment that requires multiple task management and frequent interruption.
  • Travel may be required including the use of company automobiles.
  • Public speaking may be required

Access to PHI is broad due to job function and the requirements of responding to the needs of the client. PHI located in the processing system is limited to the attached and information provided by other departments that is integral to job functions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $47,414.00 - $66,937.00 per year
