What You'll Do
As a member of Fifer's Dewey Beach staff, you'll represent the almost 100-year history of Fifer grown fruit and vegetables. You’ll be the face of the farm and provide our community with the highest quality products and remarkable customer service.

Fifer's Dewey Beach - Kitchen Staff - Job Requirements

• Friendly, courteous, and engaging individuals. You must enjoy customer service and have good communication skills. This job requires constant, clear and professional communication with customers and colleagues.
• Staff members must maintain the highest quality and freshness standards throughout the Fifer's store at all times.
• Daily tasks may include, but are not limited to: food preparation in the deli, produce grading and sorting, pricing, organizing, merchandising, product sampling, receiving deliveries, loading products, preparing orders, etc.
• You have an eye for detail and enjoy organizing and making your work area a little better each day.
• Willingness to learn product details and educate customers effectively.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 16.
• Excellent interpersonal skills are required due to a high level of customer and employee interaction.
• Time management and multitasking skills
• Highly self-motivated with a sense of urgency and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment at all times
• Very flexible and open-minded.
• Basic knowledge of fruits, vegetables, and food safety is preferred.
• Food preparation skills and kitchen knowledge are preferred, but not required.
• Must be able to address customer concerns in a professional, courteous manner
• Responsible for slicing, wrapping, weighing, and pricing and dating deli items
• Prepare sandwiches and deli salads according to recipes
• Maintain clean working environment
• May be responsible for daily breakdown and sanitizing of kitchen, deli, and other equipment
• Please note: Fifer's Dewey Beach is open seasonally from April-October each year

Physical Requirements

• Requires standing, walking, bending, stacking and lifting throughout the entire work day.
• Saturday work and holiday work will be required in this position. Sundays we are closed.
• Smoking is not permitted on our property.
• This job reports to the Connie Warren (General Manager).
