Our location in Richmond, VA currently has an opportunity for a Laboratory Assistant. The individual filling this position will be responsible for assisting the First Review and Positive Certification department.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Basic operation of GC-MS and LC-MS/MS instrumentation including, but not limited to:
- Loading and unloading extracted samples
- Hazardous waste disposal
- Refilling reagents
- Creating pre- and post-run sequences
- Daily maintenance
- Instrument set up changes
- Restock supplies
- Box paperwork for long term storage
- Waste disposal
- Additional responsibilities as needed to assist the First Review department
- Adherence to all security procedures for ensuring confidentiality of donor information
- Adherence to all established company policies
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred
- Ability to lift and/or move 25 pounds
- Excellent math and reasoning ability to develop and communicate laboratory procedures and reports
- Ability to cope with stress due to production obligations
- Ability to read and comprehend applicable Standard Operating Procedures
- Ability to communicate with other employees and supervisors
- Climate-controlled office and testing laboratory environment
- May be potential exposure to toxic or hazardous materials
