As a Lead AI Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to design, architect and implement novel industrial AI software solutions. You will contribute to R&D programs aligned with GE Healthcare as well as with U.S. government agencies such as the National Institute of Health, Department of Defense, Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health, and the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority to solve some of the world’s toughest challenges in Healthcare. The technologies developed under these programs will be matured and transitioned into GE business products.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:
As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will contribute to the planning, development, and transition of technologies from concept to products and/or services for GE HealthCare businesses and customers.

You will:

  • Work in an interdisciplinary team of researchers, scientists, and engineers to develop innovative software solutions to enable artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies for digital healthcare applications.
  • Participate in all development stages of R&D ranging from early concept design and experimentation in the lab to validating fieldable prototypes and finally transition of new technology into a commercial product.
  • Work with U.S. government agencies to help shape winning proposals and contribute to research projects that will create innovative solutions to the world’s most challenging problems.


Qualifications/Requirements
:

  • Master’s in Computer Science or related disciplines with a minimum of 10 years of industry related experience OR Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related disciplines with a minimum of 15 years of industry related experience.
  • Experience in software architecture and design, software development, and system modeling.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals at the Masters level for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY.
  • Must be 18 years or older.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience in programming languages and tools such as: C/C++, Python, Java, SQL, NoSQL.
  • Proficiency with cloud computing and Amazon Web Services
  • Experience with wearable sensors and embedded computing
  • Familiarity with designing analytics platforms
  • Experience in winning grants as a PI with government agencies such NIH, DoD, or others.
  • Experience in natural language processing
  • Collaborate with universities, commercial partners, and others to advance the state of the art in software development for healthcare applications.
  • Expertise in real time operating systems and no-code platforms for visualization.
  • Experience in agile methodology for software development.
