Overview

A growing boutique law firm devoted to representing a wide range of taxpayers in ad valorem tax litigation matters is seeking an experienced and highly motivated full-time associate to join their team. It is possible that two positions will be available, for both a junior level and experienced litigation attorney.

Job Duties

• Maintain a high-volume property tax litigation docket managing cases from inception through trial
• Evaluate evidence and negotiate settlements
• Serve as lead counsel at trials, hearings, depositions, settlement conferences, mediations and client meetings
• Review and draft/respond to various legal filings including discovery, dispositive motions, pre-trial documents, etc.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge and understanding of real estate valuation, appraisal methodology and property tax issues

Qualifications

• Licensed by the State Bar of Texas
• Minimum of 3-5 years of litigation experience; first chair trial experience preferred
• Ability to handle a large caseload, juggling multiple priorities and deadlines
• Background in property tax litigation preferred
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong proficiency in MS Office applications and internet
• Ability to travel when necessary

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
