Primary Duties/responsibilities:
- Perform planned maintenance activities in key plant to ensure required levels of service and safety are achieved.
- Identify and resolve operational maintenance problems, in the most effective manner, while maintaining standards of efficiency and safety.
- Analyze and recommend solutions to reoccurring maintenance problems, therefore ensuring that the treatment processes are operated with optimized efficiency.
- Provide accurate and complete performance and repair information for subsequent data entry to enable analysis of maintenance service and long term performance of the process assets.
- Assist in preparation of work priorities and schedules for repair maintenance and installation of machines, tools, or equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
- Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
- Confers with supervisors, management engineering, and production personnel to resolve maintenance problems, and develop measures to improve the operating condition of machines and equipment.
- Ensures that required Planned Preventative Maintenance is undertaken in accordance with the program instituted by the company.
- Must be able to recognize problems and access the seriousness of the situation to take corrective action.
- Must observe and inspect the condition of equipment to prevent serious malfunctions.
- Other lesser duties and additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Education/Experience/Background:
- High School Diploma/GED.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Job class requires 40 hours per week, which may include scheduled weekend duty.
- Incumbents in this position are expected to be on call and will be required to work overtime as needed.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
- Valid CDL Driver's License with air brake rider and tanker endorsement required.
- Must obtain a CT Operator I certificate within two (2) years of start date.
Physical Requirements:
- Constantly move about job site and facility to access indoor and outdoor equipment.
- Constantly operate tools, motorized equipment such as pumps and engines, as well as computer, and other office productivity machinery.
- Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to service equipment at the facility.
- Very often positions self to maintain equipment, including positions such as crawling, stooping, bending, and kneeling.
- Constantly communicates with other employees and supervisors about the maintenance of the facility and equipment.
- Frequently moves materials and equipment, up to 50lbs.
