Who you are:
As Manager of Custom Programs, you will work with top private and public schools across the US in designing and delivering study abroad experiences in duration from 1-2 weeks up to an academic trimester that are customized for each school’s goals and objective. You will gather the details to meet the school’s goals, close the contract, and ensure the on-site staff can deliver an exceptional program. You will work directly with the Sales Managers to secure the business, the Global CIEE Staff to finalize amazing and fun itineraries, and various US-based departments to build applications and ensure payment of invoices.

You will be excited to work cross-departmentally to build and grow the custom program portfolio, as well as strengthen relationships with top tier schools in the US. You will be ready to jump in feet first with an energetic, fast-paced team and put your skills to work. Successful candidates will provide outstanding customer service, have a keen eye for detail, and excel at managing logistics. As this business grows, you will develop standard operating procedures and train staff on efficiencies.

What you’ll do
:
  • Close the sales of school trips in cooperation with sales managers
  • Manage the operational aspects of preparing students from a school for their school’s planned trip abroad
  • Work directly with CIEE staff around the world in coordinating, planning, and implementing the custom school trips
  • Work across departments to understand and communicate business needs to IT, finance, global operations, and others as needed
  • Oversee the participant application process, working directly with a Project Coordinator, to ensure student completion of all tasks prior to departure
  • Manage the process of finalizing the itinerary, syllabi and outcomes to ensure everything meets the school’s requests
  • Build templates and streamline processes to ensure steps are followed by CIEE, school contact, and students throughout the enrollment and pre-departure process to create better efficiencies
  • Foster ongoing relationships with teachers and administrators to keep CIEE at the forefront of custom school trip opportunities
  • Provide direct customer service to school contacts during critical times in the enrollment and pre-departure process
  • Generate excitement for the Custom Trip through virtual online pre-departure orientations to the school contacts, students, and parents
  • Maintain accurate records of communication, planning documents, and other operational needs in our CRM system Salesforce and file management system in Microsoft Teams
  • Work with Finance to invoice and receive payments in a timely manner
  • Build and implement a post-program survey to be sent to the school contact, students, and parents to gain feedback to ensure better quality programming in the future
  • Other duties as assigned


What you’ll bring:
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent)
  • Minimum of 4 years of administrative, project/account management, or operational experience
  • Knowledge of the travel and/or work abroad industry is a bonus
  • Experience working in or with public or private schools a plus
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including a proven ability to manage demanding clients
  • Ability to use a CRM system to organize and prioritize your communications. Prior experience in Salesforce a plus
  • Experience with domestic and/or international travel planning and logistics
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results in a timely manner
  • Willingness to be a flexible team player, ready to jump in and do whatever is needed to ensure positive outcomes for the program
