Compensation
Initial salary offers for this position range from$70,000 - $85,000 . Salaries are determined using an equitable compensation scale that accounts for years of experience and levels of attained education.
Early Hire Bonus
If you receive an early offer to join us for the 2023-24 School Year after undergoing our talent processes, and sign prior to May 1st, 2023 you are eligible to receive a one-time $5,000 bonus.

The Network Data Product team at Ascend builds high-quality data products and systems that empower our schools and other network teams to more meaningfully leverage their data. As the needs and scale of Ascend grows, so does the complexity and need for seamless integration across these systems. This team manages the lifecycle of critical data from ingestion to visualization, while partnering with others to provide comprehensive solutions and products that drive insight-based analytics.

SIS (Infinite Campus) Data Management and Integration
- Deeply understand the use case and applications for data systems at Ascend, both from the school and network perspectives
- Be an Infinite Campus SIS expert - whether that means answering key questions from past experience or knowing how to find answers to tricky issues
- Monitor the flow of data and interactions between our data systems through Clever
- Provide targeted and timely support to troubleshoot technical/data issues via ZenDesk ticketing
- Recommend and implement improvements in processes and workflow based on changing organization needs.
- Maintain appropriate system documentation on procedures and configurations
Cross-Departmental Collaboration
- Support the Director of Network Data Products & Analytics as they connect with other teams and stakeholders to gather valuable insights on key changes to our products, as they relate to current strategic initiatives
- Communicate clearly and frequently with multiple stakeholders from other network teams, adhering to the current roadmap and translating technical requirements based on our existing SIS use-case
- Partner with the Network Operations team to implement and communicate any changes in the SIS platform, including identifying potential opportunities for new use-cases and understanding compliance requirements
Data Analysis
- Work hands-on with ad-hoc data exports and existing dashboards to review SIS information on a regular basis
- Understand the overlap and potential combination of key data from the SIS to our assessment platform (Illuminate)
- Manipulate and clean data using Excel/Google Sheets to support key stakeholders as needed
- Identify potential data quality issues or redundancies
Staff and Reporting Relationships
The Manager of Network SIS Data will report to the Director of Network Data Products & Analytics, as a core part of the Network Data Product team.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of combined relevant work experience in data analysis, system integration, and SIS management within an academic environment
- Bachelor’s degree required
- A successful applicant will have the following traits:
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
- Significant experience with an SIS (Infinite Campus) is a must, preferably with system admin experience
- Familiarity with Clever or similar application sync management software
- Incredibly high bar and meticulous attention to detail
- Experience and demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, particularly in a client or customer facing environment
Preferred skills, but not required
- Basic experience with Tableau and data visualization
- Basic understanding of databases and ETL process
- Familiarity with Illuminate Education or similar assessment platforms
- Familiarity with ZenDesk or similar ticketing systems
