Summary
The position will play a critical role as the pharmaceutical pipeline market analyst in prospecting and qualification of new business and the growth of the organization in the area of drug information. This role will support the short and long-term pharmaceutical manufacturer business development strategies through maintaining the organization’s rare disease drug product pipeline and analyzing opportunities against profitability goals. This individual will work closely with the internal PANTHERx Team in rare disease product growth opportunities for the organization.
Responsibilities:
Pharmaceutical Pipeline Monitoring and Analysis
Leads the organizations efforts in monitoring the pharmaceutical pipeline for rare disease opportunities. Provides analysis of rare disease product attributes for leadership determination of opportunity viability.
Pharmaceutical Pipeline Subject Matter Expertise
Serves as key internal resource for pharmaceutical pipeline subject matter expertise responsible for monitoring pharmaceutical pipeline activity through primary and secondary research of clinical literature and relaying this information internally to insure leadership awareness of rare disease opportunities for growth of the organization
Current Product Analysis
Reviews currently available products for growth opportunities for the organization
Actionable Insights
Leverages pharmaceutical pipeline expertise to provide actionable insights around rare disease opportunities that contribute to the revenue and EBITDA growth goals for the organization
Thought Leadership
Represents the organizations interests in rare disease space within their clinical knowledge in publishing and speaking in the area of pharmaceutical pipeline subject matter expertise
Organizational Cultural Support
Actively contributes to the positive culture of the organization providing supportive structure for future growth
Specific responsibilities to include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain PANTHERx pharmaceutical pipeline using syndicated tools, primary, and secondary research to include rare disease products in late Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III clinical trials as well as currently available products that may gain additional indications or provide profitable opportunities for the organization
- Analyze the pharmaceutical pipeline based on product attributes to identify rare disease product opportunities that may align with PANTHERx’s mission and be profitable growth opportunities for the organization. Analysis to include competitive landscape, patient journey implications, payer utilization management barriers, financial barriers, adherence to therapy issues, and financial modeling for the organization
- Proficiently leverage clinicaltrials.gov, abstracts, earnings calls, SEC filings and other secondary sources
- Present rare disease product opportunities to leadership as the subject matter expert in the pharmaceutical pipeline and awareness of profitability model of the organization
- Provide New Business Pipeline Report which summarizes rare disease business development, program profiles, and financial proformas
- Leverages pharmaceutical pipeline subject matter expertise to submit articles to peer reviewed secondary resource journals, creates poster submissions and white papers in support of the organization’s growth goals in rare disease
- Contributes to the organizations growth by supporting the proposal process with original written information and as a part of the final review, supports all aspects of the organization’s opportunity diligence in pursuit of exclusive and limited distribution rare disease drugs
- Attend quarterly business reviews to key partners as appropriate
- Works collaboratively across the matrixed organization between multiple cross-functional stakeholders to support revenue and EBITDA goals
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health administration, business or related field or some college and five years of relevant experience
- Two or more years of specialty pharmacy orphan and rare disease experience or equivalent experience
- Possess strong organizational and analytical skills, and be interested in growth and development
- High level of independent judgment, individual initiative, and time management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in a manner that is clear, logical and consistent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Significant experience managing pharmaceutical pipeline monitoring and analysis
- Experience working with pharma manufacturers, physicians, patients, and health plans
- Thorough knowledge of financial, economic, and publicly available competitive marketplace data
- Significant experience working across teams and managing relationships in a matrixed environment
- Prior experience using analysis tools or systems (ex. web based, custom, proprietary, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to manage deliverables in a high pace environment
