Manufacturing Specialist/ Manufacturing Engineer I

The Manufacturing Engineer I position is responsible for the design, development, testing, and the evaluation of integrated systems for managing industrial production processes. Engineers also coordinate with quality control, complete inventory, handle logistics, evaluate materials, cost and production.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Diamond Electric is a global leader in the design and production of automotive and home electronic products. The Manufacturing and Controls Engineer will develop and continuously manage integrated production systems for mass production lines at our Eleanor, WV production facility. The Manufacturing and Controls Engineer will not only lead the installation of production equipment, but will monitor, repair and improve the equipment during the life of the program. Successful candidates should have the ability to work independently and as a productive member of a team.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Make PLC/HMI changes to equipment with no assistance/guidance.
  • Monitor daily defect and downtime issues. Report findings.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with little supervision.
  • Modify written/electronic documentation with approval.
  • Manage large scope equipment modifications.
  • Design, quote and purchase large scope tooling.
  • Vision system setup and configuration (ex: Cognex, Keyence, Panasonic)
  • Develop improvement processes and validate for the manufacturing of ignition coils
  • Increase manufacturing capacity and efficiency through process improvements and the fabrication, purchase, installation and validation of new equipment
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mass production equipment

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Engineering Degree, Electrical or Mechanical.
  • Preferred experience in PLC/HMI programming and systems integration in industrial applications using Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Pro Face and Omron platforms.
  • Maintain and meet project schedules
  • Manage and adhere to project budgets
  • Knowledge of process instrumentation
  • Excellent communication skills: ability to effectively communicate with a cross-functional team of manufacturing engineers, design engineers, production and safety staff.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and manufacturing equipment
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required by customer needs
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Robot setup and programming (C/C++ programming knowledge a plus)
  • Familiar with industrial communication protocols (ex: CC-Link, Ethernet/IP)
  • Ability to read, troubleshoot, and update electrical schematics

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $47,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
