Job Summary:
- Under general supervision of a Licensed Vocational Nurse, provides back office support for physicians and clerical staff.
- Chart patient’s chief complaint, may assist with w/obstetrical history, and take vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse respiration, height and weight).
- Follow physician orders and give the patient their discharge instructions.
- Complete order in EMR and submit to Superbill including any other charges. Follow route slips for physicals and complete the necessary portions of forms.
- Complete patient registration process and update as required.
- Greets patients, check-in and check-out process.
- Handling busy phones, maintaining proper documentation of all paperwork, and medical record functions, including scanning correspondence, forms, prescription refills as well as taking messages.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent. BLS.
- Two or more years experience in medical field, physician’s office/direct patient care; ability to perform spirometry, EKG, use centrifuge, microscope, pulse oximeter, computer skills;
- Ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology; ability to effectively communicate and excellent customer service skills.
