Job Duties
The Medical Director serves a member of the facility’s Executive Leadership Team and is involved in strategic planning and decision making regarding the overall operation of the hospital. This role is responsible for monitoring facility-wide medical and geropsychiatric services, and directly oversees a team of psychiatric and medical professionals. The individual in this role will support on call and holiday coverage as needed, and reports directly to the Facility Director/CEO.
Minimum Qualifications
Unrestricted medical licensure by the Virginia Board of Medicine.
Board Certification preferred but board eligible accepted.
Medical degree and completion of an ACGME-approved residency training in Psychiatry.
Federally Licensed to prescribe medications.
Certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior administrative and supervisory experience preferred
Clinical experience in forensic psychiatry preferred
Dual certification in psychiatry and geriatrics preferred
