Job Description

We are looking to employ knowledgeable and experienced dispensary associates to assist patients in selecting suitable cannabis products. The responsibilities of the dispensary associate include greeting and welcoming patients, informing the manager of patient complaints and operational issues, and sharing knowledge of cannabis products to address patient concerns. You should also be able to answer patients’ questions regarding the different strains of cannabis, their medicinal uses, and methods of consumption.

To be successful as a dispensary associate, you should keep abreast of the latest developments in cannabis laws to maintain legal compliance. Dispensary associates should be able to demonstrate excellent communication and patient service skills by ensuring that patients are well-informed and satisfied with their purchases.

Duties and responsibilities or (Essential Functions)

  • Advising patients on suitable cannabis products based on their needs, preferences, budgets, and reactions to different strains of cannabis.
  • Keeping abreast of new cannabis products on the market as well as the latest industry trends through trade shows and research.
  • Processing customers' payments using the dispensary's Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Knowledge of the strains we carry, their effects on the human body, contraindications, customer education, etc.
  • Ensuring that the dispensary is clean and well-organized at all times.
  • Educating patients on the safe use of their selected cannabis products.
  • Correctly labeling cannabis products as required.
  • Checking patients' identification documents to verify that they are of legal age.
  • Taking inventory of cannabis products and ensuring that the sales floor is adequately stocked.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office products, email, and other software applications such as the seed-to-sale tracking software

The position is responsible for assisting with the retail operations of the dispensary while abiding by policies, procedures, and operational guidelines. You will work directly with the other Supervisors, Inventory Manager, and General Manager to ensure the building is safely operating at all times. The scope of this position includes all opening and closing responsibilities as well as day-to-day floor operations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Retail experience preferred
  • Knowledge of cannabis strains and their medicinal benefits
  • Metrc experience preferred
  • Excellent Time Management
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate proficiently both verbally and in written format
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Detail Oriented

  • Conduct all interactions with a high ethical standard

  • Strong knowledge of retail technology platforms and systems

Working conditions

This job operates in a professional retail store environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. This position requires weekends, nights, overtime as needed, holidays, and flexible work availability. May require some travel.

Physical requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and listen. This employee is frequently required to stand or sit for long periods, walk constantly, use hands or feet, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to lift up to 50 pounds. May be required to work outdoors and/or during inclement weather.
