JOB SUMMARY:

Supports, directs, and administers activities within Production Control and Logistics Departments. Responsibilities of this position include, development of an accurate and executable production schedule, balancing inventory investments and material presentation / availability that maximizes production efficiencies, tactical and strategic procurement of material, and supply chain risk mitigation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and submits the following for management approval, staffing forecasts, inventory plans, annual expense, and capital equipment operating budgets. Administers approved budgets and overtime limitations.
  • Establishes Master Schedule Requirements in support of company needs. Directs order generation, capacity planning, shortage control, inventory planning, and temporary / permanent farm out.
  • Develop and maintains organization structures and qualified staff to assure optimum functional effectiveness of the various departments.
  • Coordinates with Operations/ Manufacturing to support the line organization in meeting production requirements. Revises planning and schedules where changes will improve workflow.
  • Responsible for developing long range and short-term plans, objectives, and budgets assure accurate economical controls and procedures necessary to support ERP, Finance, Quality, Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management requirements. Develops and maintains metrics in support of requirements.
  • Assists Operations/Manufacturing in defining production problem areas such as bottlenecks, capacity constraints, machine capability, or parts shortage issues affecting production, and recommends alternative work plans for schedule changes. Drives continuous improvement activity for long term resolution of issues.
  • Assigns and coordinates new program activity within area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for stockroom, logistics, and shipping / receiving functions of the organization.
  • Responsible for direct and indirect purchasing processes and execution for the organization
  • Provides effective communication of critical issues to Cross Functional Leadership Team.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years in aerospace/aviation purchasing or relative experience
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.

QUALIFICATONS:

  • Demonstrable expertise in MS Office suite of tools
  • Experience with a recognized planning system (ERP) in a production/operations environment (aerospace preferred)
  • Basic understanding of bill of materials and drawings
  • Ability to recognize patterns and make connections from the data then find root cause for variances.
  • Utilize formulas, pivot tables etc. to manipulate big data.
  • Must possess solid analytical skills in forecasting and production needs and capabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interests and obtain cooperation.
