Job description

The Shawano School District has a full-time opening for a 7th grade science teacher at Shawano Community Middle School beginning with the 2023-2024 school year. The successful candidate will possess a thorough understanding of his/her content area and understand the unique nature of teaching a multi-cultural student population.

The successful candidate for this position will be dedicated to seeking and utilizing current research and best practice in order to challenge him/herself to be the best teacher he or she can be. This person must understand middle school students' proximal zone of development in order to appropriately plan lessons and to advocate for his/her students' needs. In addition, the candidate must be comfortable with the process of holding honest, actionable conversations about data, assessment, curriculum and classroom management/expectations with his/her team in order to improve student learning.

Candidates seeking to apply for this position should also be familiar with the EE (Educator Effectiveness) Framework.
