Monitor Tech
Job Summary:
- Assists the Nursing Department in the care of patients by preparing for and assisting with all aspects of cardiac monitoring. Essential function includes informing nurses and other appropriate members of the health care team of a patient's important physiological and cardiac changes
- Responsible for identification of patient arrhythmias, abnormalities or significant changes from baseline and reporting on the condition of patient/client to the appropriate supervisor or other health care team members.
- Assures that telemetry monitors are attached to correct patient and documented correctly
- Completes documentation and posting to the medical record in a timely manner
- Inventories equipment at the end of each shift
Training is lengthy and is provided by the Monitor Tech supervisor.
Requirements:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required. Basic computer skills required.
Experience:
Monitor Tech experience preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Additional Skills/Abilities:
Must possess excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
