The Jail Based Behavioral Health Services (JBBS) Program has been operational since 2011 with funding from the Correctional Treatment Cash Fund. The goal of the JBBS Program is to provide appropriate behavioral health services to inmates while supporting continuity of care within the community after release from incarceration.
To carry out the JBBS program, The Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Department partnered with Jefferson Center to provide therapeutic services within the jail and to link individuals releasing from jail to free or low-cost services in the community. This approach should result in shorter jail sentences and decrease recidivism through better identification and treatment of behavioral health needs.
- Administer screens and engagement strategies with voluntary clients in accordance with clinical practice guidelines and policies.
- Promote change and movement through the therapeutic system following recovery-based practice guidelines and ensure delivery practices are guided by the principles of trauma-informed care.
- Initial assessments, client-centered treatment planning, safety planning, ongoing evidenced-based individual and group therapy and transition planning.
- Identify risk factors including lethality for suicidal, homicidal and/or grave disability. Licensed clinicians provide recommendations to jail-staff when a client returns to general population from an individual holding cell.
- Address the whole health needs of clients by ensuring that appropriate releases are in place and making appropriate referrals as needed when significant physical health needs are a consideration.
- Exhibit enthusiasm, courtesy, adaptability, flexibility, and spirit of cooperation in the work environment. Maintain effective interpersonal relations with consumers, peers, management, visitors, and the public. Use culturally competent language and behavior to promote dignity and respect.
- Attend mandatory trainings and continuing education opportunities. Participate in supervision by coming prepared with an agenda. Staff high risk cases and use problem-solving approaches.
- Participate in CAS group supervision per OBH regulations. Complete required paperwork for substance use treatment licenses and billing, including ASI, ASAM Level of Care and Placement Criteria, and DACOD’s
- Assist with tracking program outcomes in accordance with JBBS guidelines.
- Meet required number of consumer service hours through effective caseload management responsive to the level of ongoing clinical need.
- Corporate Compliance including documentation on practice in accordance with regulatory requirements and clinical guidelines.
Qualifications:

Masters’ Degree (from accredited University/College) in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology/ Forensics or related field required.

Two years of related experience required

Licensure (LPC, LCSW, LMFT or License Eligible) preferred.

CAS preferred.

- $51,040 - $64,790*
- Salary is determined based on years of total relevant experience.
- Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE.
