Job Summary:

The NP/PA will work in collaboration with the Attending Physician to provide comprehensive health assessments and develop a plan of care for the patient population in the Division of Hematology/Oncology and the Department of Medicine in their outpatient practices in both Oswego & Oneida NY. Will also document in the medical record by recording subjective, objective data, assessment and plan records data in a consistent, legible, accurate, concise and timely manner. Will provide patient/family education and utilize prescriptive authority working in collaboration with the Attending.


Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed/registered NP or PA required (NYS NP specialty area of certification must be consistent with practice). Must have NPI number and be Medicare Enrolled with Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) OR be eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire (eligibility criteria for NP requires National Certification through AANP or ANCC, and Master's Degree) (eligibility criteria for PA requires graduation from an accredited PA program and National Certification through NCCPA). Initial certification must be present or obtained within 6 months of hire. Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required.

OPTIONAL: Internal candidates who are not eligible for Medicare Enrollment, but are otherwise qualified, may be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous NP/PA experience in an outpatient hematology/oncology practice preferred.

Work Days:

Monday through Friday daytime hours; position floats between Upstate Cancer Center in Oneida and Upstate Cancer Center in Oswego.
