POSITION TITLE: Nursing Education Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Nursing Administration
REPORTS TO: Chief Nursing Officer
JOB PURPOSE: To improve the health and wellbeing of our communities.
BASIC FUNCTION: The Nursing Clinical Educator is a Registered Nurse with advanced expertise in the field of clinical patient care management. Possesses the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to provide expert nursing care. Acts as a role model, team leader, and supervisor within nursing departments. Evaluates overall nursing care, protocols and procedures through clinical practice, rounds, patient observation, incident reports, and documentation. Works with leadership team to maintain competencies for all clinical positions. Helps manage the learning management system. Provides just in time training to staff in one on one and group settings. Continually monitors and reports on opportunities for process improvement. Designs and conducts educational programs for nursing staff. Coordinates onboarding programs for new staff members in nursing departments. Develops programs to keep existing staff up-to-date on skills and competencies, and acts as general resource for nursing personnel. Helps organize annual skills fairs and educational events. Evaluates the program results and competencies of nursing staff. Takes action based upon clinical judgment and knowledge of current evidence based practice standards. Ensures that educational programs meet regulatory requirements. Collaborates with Training and Education Administrator, Chief Nursing Officer, and Nursing Department Directors to carry out practice standards, competencies, and staff education to enhance the quality of patient care. Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Requires a current Registered Nurse license in the State of Colorado. BSN or equivalent preferred but not required. BLS certification required upon hire. ACLS and PALS certification required within 3 months of hire and maintain current status throughout employment. BLS, ACLS, and PALS Instructor Certification required within six months of hire. ACLS and PALS Course Director Certification required within one year of hire.
Experience: Minimum 4 years overall nursing experience preferred. Experience with clinical education and Microsoft Office preferred.
SALARY INFORMATION :
$44.95 - $49.48 Dependent on Experience
Shift differentials may apply for eligible positions.
