Job Summary:
Chloeta is seeking 2 (two) Obstetrics Registered Nurses (RN) for Chinle, AZ. The nurses shall provide care for patients in the impatient obstetrical unit. The medical facility has 60 beds. Services offered are adult inpatient and pediatric inpatient care, outpatient primary care, adult intensive care, emergency medicine, general surgery, podiatry, OBGYN, labor & delivery, women's health, midwifery, mental health, pharmacy, optometry, dental, PT, OT, speech pathology, audiology, lab, public health, and school health.
This is a short-term contract (13-16 weeks) with the ideal option to extend one to three years. Shifts may be 11.5 hours for days, 12 hours for nights totaling 6-7 shifts/2-week period, including weekends, holidays, rotating day and night shifts, as scheduled by the scheduling staff member based on the unit’s needs for coverage. With a one-hour lunch for day shift and thirty minutes for night shift.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None but may serve as a mentor.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide full range of obstetrical and newborn infant care to patients admitted to Obstetric Care Unit (OCU).
- Analyze results of various medical procedures and translate them into appropriate nursing interventions.
- Provide parenting education, child health and development screening, evaluation, and consultation.
- Exercise knowledge of the nursing process and its application to clinical practice to provide individualized, goal-oriented nursing care to the laboring, postpartum, antepartum, and newborn patients.
- Work effectively and harmoniously within the health care team and patients and their families.
- May cross train to provide care in the Women’s Health Unit.
- Apply knowledge of scientific and psychosocial nursing theory, principles, spiritual, and social-cultural needs of the Native American patients/community.
- Implement knowledge of biological aspects of disease processes and illness relating to obstetrical and newborn infants and can recognize complications and implement appropriate nursing/therapeutic interventions.
- Exercise knowledge of the medications and dosages to recognize their desired effects, side-effects, and complications of their use.
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform typically related nursing duties such as drawing blood, starting IVs, initiating CPR, etc.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures of: the facility, the Joint Commission (TJC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Association of Women’s Health, Obstetrics, and Neonatal Nursing (AWHONN), HIPAA, Privacy Act, American College of Gynecologists (ACOH), and other federal licensing, accreditation and regulating body standards.

Education and Experience:
- Required: Must have 36 months of nursing experience with a minimum of 12 months in required specialty.
- Required: Possess an associate’s (or a higher level of education) in nursing through an accredited program in the U.S.A.
- Required: Possess a current, valid, unrestricted nursing license in any state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States, throughout the term of this contract. License verification must be provided at the time of application.
- Required: Maintain valid and current certifications and provide proof at the time of application in the following:
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Newborn Life Support (NLS)
- Other certifications as required in this nursing specialty.
- Required: Possess and maintain a current driver's license in any state.
- Required: Provide three (3) professional references at the time of application.
- Preferred: Valid and current certifications in the following:
- Advanced Trauma Care Nurse (ATCN) or Trauma Nurse Critical Care (TNCC)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP)
- Fetal Monitoring Certification (C-EFM)
- Other certifications as required in this nursing specialty.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to withstand physical and emotional stress.
- Must be able to stand and move for long periods of time.
- Able to frequently lift at least 50 lbs., reach, pull, push, bend, stoop, and kneel.
- At the time of hire, must provide a fitness for duty certificate issued by a licensed physician to perform the proposed job without significant risk to personal health or the health and safety of others.
- At the time of hire, must provide documentation of evidence of immunizations as required by the facility's immunization policy.

Pre-employment Requirements:
This position may be contingent upon passing a security clearance, criminal background check (state and federal), drug screen, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review, education verification, employment verification, and/or credit check after acceptance of an offer and prior to beginning work, due to the nature of the services Chloeta provides and the responsibilities of this position.
Drug and Alcohol Testing:
To enforce Chloeta’s Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy, an employee or candidate could be subject to undergoing a drug screen and/or alcohol testing at the beginning of employment, as well as after commencement of employment where there is reasonable suspicion of intoxication, or following an automobile or other accident, or as part of a company or facility-wide random drug screen process.
Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA):
Under the FCRA, Chloeta may request a credit check during the onboarding process. A written authorization form will be required before obtaining credit records.
Emergency Response:
Every Chloeta employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official Duty Station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official Position Description (PD). Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
