SUMMARY
This is a clerical position, in a fast-paced environment with many interruptions. Excellent multi-tasking and superb customer service skills are required, as well as the ability to work independently. Outstanding interpersonal and problem-solving skills are also an asset. With at least four different programs operating in the building, the candidate must have an affinity for collaboration and the ability to be flexible in the face of shifting priorities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to equity, social justice, and inclusion in all practices and position responsibilities.

- Engages in reflection and ongoing learning and development on critical concepts and terms identified in the Washtenaw ISD Educational Equity Policy including concepts such as cultural proficiency, racial equity, and systemic and structural inequities.
- Understands and complies with local district policies, procedures related to special education, instruction, and technology.
- Maintains databases and prepares management reports for electronic data collection systems.
- Ability to utilize student database management system for tasks.
- Ability to work in electronic student database system for inputting, exporting and organizing.
- Ability to work with various software programs i.e., (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, PowerSchool, School Dude, and Meal Magic)
- Provide technical support to staff related to PowerSchool.
- Organizing staff materials, creating documents using various electronic formats, preparing employee development training materials, newsletters, and school web page
- Ability to print, copy, organize and collate materials.
- Work well with staff members and their various programs.
- Ability to support teaching staff.
- Ability to understand and provide budget reports, account reconciliation, purchase orders, purchase order tracking, and account history for departmental accounts.
- Order materials using a variety of vendors considering the price and quality to establish best price for materials & print reports.
- Creating purchase orders in the financial database.
- Organize summer program, database, employee list, supplies, transportation.
- Maintaining, school calendars, building schedules for various programs in building, record keeping, daily attendance data, and lunch data.
- Works well in a team environment with the education support and instructional services areas.
- Monitor and maintain office machines.
- Delivery of US and interoffice mail to staff.
- Excellent customer service skills, knowledge of staff and knowledge of the school building layout.
- Excellent phone etiquette and knowledge of phone systems.

- Liaison between supervisor & staff, both onsite and offsite program when supervisor is in the field.
- Coordinate & Receive Deliveries.
- KALPA-Enter all program professional developments for state/staff tracking for teacher certification renewal, and CEUs.
- Transportation-Set up, amend, and communicate and continually problem solve with our 9 local districts.
- Student enrollment for assigned programs.
- Receive, prepare, and fax student records to MDHHS and other stakeholders as requested for current and past students.
- Complete annual SafeSchools trainings, as well as other required technology trainings.
- Updating stakeholders with any student changes (i.e., transportation).
- Provides limited technical support for Special Education staff (PSSP, PS).
- Maintain classroom rosters.
- Maintain attendance records.Including tracking consecutive absences to determine if homebound services are appropriate or if truancy is appropriate.
Sending attendance letters
- Data entry of student data.
- Maintaining program staff PSSP profiles.
- Complete End of Year processes.
- Coordinate transportation for local based students to participate in the aquatics program at High Point.
- Providing general office support to all occupants in the building including (Honey Creek and Gretchen’s house). Such as receiving deliveries, mail distribution, phone calls and messages.
- Notifies administration of building issues.
- Assisting tech department with Count Day documentation (Worksheet B’s, Attendance and 10/30 Reports).
- Maintaining visitor logs, making sure visitors of High Point and Honey Creek are logging in, masked and completing the health screener as needed.
- Assisting new hires with account setup.
- Assisting in mandatory drills.
- Using Bright Author software to maintain graphics on the display boards throughout the building.

Coordinating transportation
General office support for supervisor and teaching staff
- Manages room reservations for the gym, cafeteria, and office conference room.
- Acts as a for backup Events Services managing room reservation at High Point.
- Assigns and collects building keys for staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Associates degree or equivalent experience preferred; high school graduate or equivalent with business school training or any equivalent combination of experience.
- Extensive, progressively responsible experience in a clerical environment.
- Interest in being a part of a learning organization and committed to helping schools with improvement and instructional issues is desired.
- Possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Knowledge of Google (documents, drive, classroom).
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as grants, journal articles, curriculum guides, and handbooks and follow instructions.
- Knowledge and demonstrated proficiency in organizational problem-solving.
- Ability to take the initiative, work well with others as a collaborative team member, and exhibit good communication skills both written and verbal.

- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all staff.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of a personal computer (PC) in a networked. environment to utilize the Internet and other electronic communications mechanisms such as email conferencing, and other communication tools.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required.
- Experience with publishing tools such as Microsoft Publisher desired.
- Previous experience with a financial and/or purchasing electronic application.
- Knowledge of productivity applications such as Microsoft Office (word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software) and other technology to support efficient and effective office operation is required.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to maintain program budgets.

TERMS
12-month position. Position subject to terms, conditions and calendar of the Master Agreement between the District and Teamsters Local 214. Starting salary is $22.19 per hour; hourly rate increases to $23.32 per hour at the end of the first year.
