WOW Logistics is now hiring for an Operations Engineer!
As an Operations Engineer, you will be a key member of a cross functional team including Engineering, Operations, and Sales. As a part of this team, you are responsible for analyzing operational challenges, developing customer supply chain solutions, assisting in pricing new business, driving continuous improvements, establishing new procedures, and expanding on existing business for this leading Midwest third party logistics provider (3PL). This role will work with all departments and all levels within the company. Responsibilities:
- Cleary define project scope of work that will effectively measure operational milestones and scope creep
- Develop operational pricing models for new and existing customers
- Participate in managing the companies’ MHE (Material Handling Equipment) and storage system strategies. This includes analyzing, quoting, purchasing, and optimizing use of a multi-million-dollar fleet of warehouse equipment
- Analyze and implement warehouse management system (WMS) configurations for new and existing operations
- Develop integrated logistics solutions, including facility layout, process flow, labor requirements, storage systems, material handling equipment, information technology systems, and other related items
- Assist Sales and Operations to gather data, perform analysis, and organize customer bids and proposals
- Analyze existing facilities and customer accounts to ensure operations are running efficiently and cost effectively
- Identify, analyze, and implement cost savings opportunities
- Establish, maintain, and utilize a database of costs, labor time standards, KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), and other operational metrics
- Conduct process improvement including analyzing, documenting, and communicating best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or similar preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
- Experience in warehouse design, implementation, and systems integration is a plus
- Experience in AutoCAD is a plus, but not required
- Ability to analyze labor requirements and other operations metrics
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and data analysis skills
- Understand contractual commitments and the related impact to solution design
- Ability to work independently and within a group environment
- Excellent communication skills with employees at all levels
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and handle a variety of complex issues and customer requirements
- Ability to establish and effectively manage projects, budgets, and timelines
- Self-driven and confident
- Ability to travel, as needed
