Job Summary: Our practice culture is to provide exceptional customer service to our patients. We are growing and we are looking to add qualified and compassionate professionals to our outstanding team. A minimum of one year experience in ophthalmic assisting is preferred, but not required. Must be multi-task oriented, possess high energy, have a positive/professional attitude with strong communication skills and a team player approach. Responsibilities include assisting physicians with ophthalmic procedures, performing prescreening exams, advanced diagnostic testing, administering medications, providing staff training and patient education, maintaining medical/surgical supplies, and assisting with maintaining an effective efficient practice.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist and provide patients with excellent customer service and any necessary information regarding treatment
- Assist experienced ophthalmic medical technicians in the maintenance and cleaning of all ophthalmic instruments
- Gathering medical records and patient information
- Taking ocular measurements (both anatomical and functional)
- Preparing and administering medications and providing patients with eye care and contact lens information
- Assisting ophthalmologists with basic procedures and maintenance of ophthalmic instruments

Education and Experience:
- Experience within a professional environment with a strong customer service focus
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- Previous experience within the medical field (preferred)
- High school or equivalent education
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
- This is a full-time position located in Georgetown, Summerville, Moncks Corner, North Charleston, Mt. Pleasant, and Charleston, SC.
- Travel to other locations as necessary
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of standing and moving between workspaces.
- Ability to travel between locations as necessary.
