Guthrie County Hospital has an opening for full-time Operating Room & MedSurg RN. This position works an average of 40 hours per week, primarily in the Operating Room with one shift per week on the MedSurg floor.
The OR RN is responsible for the direct and indirect provision of professional nursing care of the patient in the operating room. You will be accountable for ongoing evaluation and documentation of all components of care delivered to patients within the perioperative inpatient and outpatient environment utilizing the nursing process.
On the MedSurg floor, you will utilize assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in providing comprehensive and competent patient care. You will also provide effective interaction with patients, family members and staff, and coordinate interdepartmental patient care activities while maintaining nursing standards and policies of the department and GCH.

Graduate of accredited school of nursing; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred- Current license in the State of Iowa
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), within 6 months of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), within 6 months of hire
- Must possess the ability to function in a team environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Must be able to embrace change and able to handle multiple demands at one time
- Surgery experience, preferred
