The Psychiatric Institute of Washington provides comprehensive behavioral healthcare for adolescents, adults, and senior adults suffering from mental health and addictive illnesses. PIW is a 130 bed, short-term, acute care hospital offering inpatient, partial and intensive outpatient hospitalization, as well as specialized treatment programs for chemical dependency. • Documents progress notes for group sessions with patients/clients, which indicate date and length of session, discussion/treatment and patient responses.
• Develops and conducts, in conjunction with treatment team, special focus groups as determined by identifying patient’s population needs.
• Informs relevant team members of new developments that may impede length of stay or create barriers to discharge.
• Adheres to the philosophy and mission statement of PIW.
• Coordinates the scheduling of his/her groups with Director of Clinical Services to meet hospital needs

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related discipline from an accredited graduate school
• A Graduate Clinical Licensure in District of Columbia required (LGSW, LGPC, AMFT; CACI)
• Minimum one to two years’ experience in delivery of direct clinical services in a behavioral health setting; some portion of which must have included treatment of substance use and Trauma conditions;
• Superior verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of hospital systems, including intake/admission procedures, experience working with third party payers preferred, but not required. Experience in outpatient, inpatient and partial hospital work preferred
