McCain Food’s facility in Burley, Idaho is a large-scale food processing plant, employing approximately 700 employees. This site specializes in the production of frozen potato products. Fun Fact: 1 in 4 French fries are produced by McCain Foods.
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for insuring that quality products are packaged efficiently while meeting quality specifications for the packaging of products. Also responsible for the efficient use of packaging supplies and equipment.

Key Responsibilities*:

• Follows Standard Operating Procedures for maintenance, quality control, sanitation, line production, supervision, safety, supplies control and line operator reports.
• Trains other line personnel while developing a team effort.
• Insures production standards are met.
• Sets up, operates and adjusts packaging line and case sealing equipment when required.
• Disassembles and reassembles machinery for sanitation and change over purposes.
• Performs preventative and minor maintenance on packaging and sealing equipment.
• Confirms quality of product before packaging.
• Monitors and maintains product line flow to insure consistent temperature and packaging of product.
• Requests supplies as needed for delivery by forklift operators.

Qualifications*:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience as a Packaging Operator in a manufacturing facility is a plus.
• Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Must have ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Must have demonstrated computer skills and experience with the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking is required.

Physical Demand:
Constant: standing on regularly scheduled shift and reach with hands and arms.
Frequently: Walk, use of hands to finger, handle or feel; and talk or hear.
Occasionally: Sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch crawl, lift up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust
