What You'll Do

As a first level supervisor you will provide leadership, technical direction and oversight to exempt Facilities Quality personnel who support plant Maintenance, Facility, and Infrastructure organizations. The primary objective is ensuring quality program compliance of these organizations. To achieve this objective, the supervisor must work closely with both internal and external stakeholders and collaborate within and across major organizations to achieve organizational goals compliantly, on schedule, and within budget. The supervisor accomplishes this objective through management of quality personnel who perform implementation of quality program oversight and quality control activities organizations being supported. The supervisor will also be responsible for administrative activities for their direct reports. Administrative activities include: performance reviews, daily direction, metrics, continuous improvement, priorities, budget, work-governing documents, and hiring. The supervisor will also support developing and implementing consistent Enterprise systems and processes best practices. The supervisor will also interface with NPO personnel as required.


The supervisor will report to the Enterprise Projects and Infrastructure Quality Senior Manager.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
  • OR 13 or more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting.
  • In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2 (High School diploma and 3 years nuclear experience, or a DOE O 426.2 alternative). DOE 426.2 experience requirements can be satisfied following employment. In the interim, newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities.

Preferred Job Requirements

  • Extensive Department of Energy (DOE) quality standards and principles experience including NQA-1, 10CFR830, 10CFR71 Subpart H, DOE Order 414.1D and proficiency in the technical aspects of Quality.
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical or engineering discipline.
  • Position will require the application of Conduct of Engineering principles, NQA-1 requirements commensurate with performing work in nuclear facilities. Experience in a NRC or DOE regulated environment is desirable. Position requires familiarity with the applicable national consensus codes, standards, and DOE requirements/guidelines used in the technical management of building systems and infrastructure for nuclear facilities.
  • Requires experience in resolving complex issues and communication of these resolutions to regulators and project staff.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively partnering and communicating with internal and external customers necessary.
  • Demonstrated skill in effective planning, writing, organization, communication, schedule compliance, and management of technical issues.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
