QUALIFICATIONS:

• A high school degree or equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Have a valid Illinois driver's license
• Must pass pre-employment health and drug screening (excludes marijuana) and background check

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

• Perform the job in compliance with District policies, procedures, work rules and employee manuals.

• Perform the job in compliance with District Safety Policies and Procedures.

• Demonstrate and support the Park District’s mission statement, vision, and core values.

• Must be able to safely perform duties in the presence of the general population and or park patrons in public areas.

• Removing all refuse and trash from parks and playgrounds.

• Ability to operate all District vehicles and equipment.

• Maintain Park District turf areas including mowing, trimming, seeding, and fertilizing.

• Perform landscape maintenance to include watering, mulching, and weeding.

• Maintain athletic fields including dragging and striping.

• Must be flexible with schedule changes, extra hours, and emergency calls.

• Perform other duties and functions as directed.

HOURS OF WORK AND COMPENSATION:

This position requires non-traditional workweek (up to 30 hours per week, including work on the weekends) schedules dependent on maintenance needs of the Bloomingdale Park District. Hourly wage starts at $13.00 DOQ.
