Performance Responsibilities :
- Attends all School Committee Meetings and Subcommittee Meetings.
- Advises the Chair on parliamentary procedure, the Open Meeting Law, and District Policy.
- Assists the Chair in conducting efficient and orderly meetings.
- Models professional decorum for the Committee and members of the public.
- Stays up-to-date on changes to applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Reads meeting agendas ahead of time and provides the Chair with relevant feedback, e.g. voting requirements, Open Meeting Law limitations, etc.
- All other duties as assigned by the School Committee.
- Knowledge of parliamentary procedure, the Massachusetts Open Meeting Law, and other applicable laws and regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and preparation skills.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications that the School Committee may find appropriate and acceptable.
