Part time School Crossing Guard
Job description
Directs and maintains safety rules and conditions for pedestrian children in route to and from school at designated school crossings. Ability to work outdoors under all weather conditions.
Work hours will be one hour in the morning (7:15 a.m. to 8:15 a.m.) and one hour in the afternoon (2:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.) for a total of two hours per day, Monday through Friday only while school is in session. Work will not be performed during the summer months or school holidays.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Directs flow of traffic (stop and start) to allow children safe passage at designated school crossings within the City.
Reports unsafe conditions or problems to the Police Department.
Assists small children across the street.
Maintains prescribed rules and regulations pertaining to school crossings.
Maintains high self visibility to pedestrians and vehicles during work assignments.
Qualifications
Minimum eighth (8th) grade education. Must be at least 18 years of age; three (3) to six (6) months experience in traffic direction preferred but not required; Bilingual preferred but not required.
Special Requirements
Ability to pass vigorous background check and drug screen.
