Part Time, benefit eligible position, scheduled 40 hours per pay period (every two weeks) on Day (6:30am-3pm) shift with a weekend and holiday commitment on the Atrium West unit.
Our Atrium West unit at the Chelsea hospital cares for our patients who need inpatient rehabilitation. These patients could have traumatic brain injuries, cerebral vascular accidents, amputations, debility, poly trauma or spinal cord injuries. This unit has 24 beds and the average length of stay ranges from 12-14 days.
The PCA, under the direction of a registered nurse, is responsible for direct patient care considering age specific, developmental, cultural and spiritual needs. They assist in establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean, safe and conducive to patient/family wellbeing including concepts of relationship-based care.
Training is provided to prepare our colleagues for success. The PCA assists patient in completing ADLs including: Bathing, showering, toileting, positioning, turning, transferring, ambulation using assistive devices and with feeding and menu selection. They are responsible to record patient information and required data in appropriate areas in order to meet documentation requirements.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / LICENSURE
High school diploma, GED, or a minimum of 18 years of age.
Recent experience desired.
