HR Works is supporting our client, a truck and trailer dealership, with its search for a Payroll and Human Resources Coordinator. This position is located onsite, in Buffalo, NY.
Summary: This position plays an integral role in ensuring that payroll is recorded and processed timely and accurately, and that employee records are kept up-to-date and confidential. The Payroll and Human Resources Coordinator will provide guidance to managers with payroll-related questions and support additional HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits, performance evaluation, HR compliance, and HRIS administration.

  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll and timekeeping processes.
  • Manages all new hire onboarding, employee changes, and termination paperwork for employees, and updates HRIS payroll systems.
  • Maintains time-off accruals.
  • Maintains employee files (both paper and electronic) ensuring all confidential documents are appropriately handled
  • Supports auditing payroll deductions to vendors invoices.
  • Supports the performance evaluation process, working closely with managers.
  • Supports yearly review of the employee handbook and assists with any policy additions or changes.
  • Supports the HR Manager and Management with yearly benefit plan evaluations, changes, and open enrollment.
  • Reviews and submits disability, Paid Family Leave, and FMLA paperwork, ensuring that employees meet qualifications, and responds to requests for follow-up paperwork.
  • Manages special projects and/or other tasks as assigned by the HR Manager or Senior Management.

Position Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience processing payroll; experience with weekly, multi-site, and multi-state payroll is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of broad Human Resources experience in the areas of benefits, recruitment, onboarding, and HRIS administration.
  • A desire to learn in grow in the HR field.
  • A strong commitment to customer service and a high degree of attention to detail is required.
