The role
As the Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for the overall operation of payroll processes and some HR functions. You will be responsible for the successful completion and administration of payroll and benefits with a focus on accuracy, confidentiality and compliance. You will provide conscientious and streamlined resolutions for employee concerns, from benefit orientation at onboarding all the way through the life-cycle of the employee experience.
Key responsibilities:
General
- Manage the ADP Workforce Now HRIS platform.
- Act as front-line support for HR by performing customer service functions such as responding to employee payroll and benefit related requests and questions.
- Create reports and provide analysis of data maintained in the HRIS.
Payroll
- Process bi-weekly and multi-state payroll for hourly and salaried employees ensuring accuracy and completion throughout the process.
- Process and audit employee payroll data, payments, and hours.
Human Resources
- Process leave of absences and terminations with accuracy according to state laws.
- Assist employees and managers with time and attendance issues.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements.
- Encourage a good working environment among the U.S. HR Team and the rest of the company's areas. In particular: HR Managers, Line Managers, and Site Directors.
- Promote teamwork, collaboration and communication among colleagues and foster an accessible and inclusive work environment.
- Creating and managing employee files.
- Benefits enrollment.
- Onboarding administration.
- Submitting background checks.
- Assisting with offboarding procedures.
You will be joining our administrative team located at our administrative office in Brooklyn. We pride ourselves on having a collaborative and fun culture in the office!
Who you are:
- Bachelors degree.
- English, Spanish is a plus.
- Effective with analyzing and communicating data-informed findings.
- 2 years with multi-state payroll experience (250+ employees), required.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), preferred.
- Knowledge of wage/labor laws.
- Experience implementing HRIS, preferred.
