Job Summary
Vaco's Pursuit Enablement Center (PEC) provides strategy, project management and execution support for RFP, capability documents, presentation decks, case studies, white papers and articles for Vaco and its multiple brands (Pivot Point Consulting, MorganFranklin Consulting, Focus Search Partners). The Proposal/Business Writer supporting Pivot Point Consulting's healthcare consulting team leads and contributes directly to the simultaneous development and delivery of multiple proposals, presentations and other customer deliverables for Pivot Point Consulting. Responsibilities include
- Review proposal request materials (RFP, SOW, price format, etc.) and develop response plan, including contents, schedule and contributors.
- Provide input to the development of proposal win strategies, including "best practices" across business lines.
- Collaborate with practice leaders and subject matter experts and delivery leads to develop and write tailored solutions in a consumable format.
- Write tailored, persuasive and high-quality content to ensure comprehensive and compelling responses, case studies and thought leadership.
- Retrieve appropriate elements from previous submittals, draft new non-technical content when necessary.
- Review all content for readability, applicability and persuasiveness.
- Become knowledgeable of Pivot Point's healthcare services, areas of expertise, solutions and delivery mechanisms to help sales team members identify opportunities to proactively position Pivot Point's capabilities that are most relevant to each client's needs/opportunities and that add value. Areas of Pivot Point's expertise include Strategy, M&A, Managed Services, Data & Analytics, Revenue Cycle Management and implementation/optimization of clinical and business systems. Delivery mechanisms include management consulting, managed services and talent solutions.
- Substantially contribute to all proposal meetings including kickoff, updates, proposal draft and cost/pricing reviews.
- Support account teams with written proposals and respond to ad-hoc requests for information.
- Interact with clients, as necessary, to define preferences and requirements.
- Effectively communicate deliverable status and issues with applicable management.
- Ensure deliverable content and pricing adhere to stated or otherwise-known client requirements.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of material for reviews, production and submittal.
- Proactively provide input to ongoing improvement of the proposal management system and resulting deliverables.
Minimum Qualifications
- Five (5) years of proposal (RFP responses and unstructured proposals) and case study writing experience in a professional services or consulting environment, preferably the Big 4 or top-tier management consulting firms.
- Technical writing (e.g., white papers, articles) experience as a ghost writer, editor or featured author.
- Aptitude and interest in understanding the full spectrum of Pivot Point's services and solutions to proactively position the most relevant capabilities and expertise for each client's challenges and opportunities.
- Strong Microsoft Office Skills, including MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail, and superior aptitude for organization and time management; able to manage a large ongoing volume of deliverables.
- Self-motivated with an adaptable, positive attitude; able to function effectively in a fast-paced, high intensity, deadline-driven environment.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Flexible work hours (may include non-business hours) in support of increased work volumes and to meet critical deadlines across multiple time zones.
- Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Able to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team.
- SharePoint experience a plus.
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure: $85,000 - $125,000. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
