WHO IS HAPPY CONES CO?

G’day, Em here, manager of Happy Cones Co!

In 2014 Hap, the owner, arrived here in Denver from his native New Zealand and saw there was no New Zealand Style ice cream here. In 2015 while hosting and bussing tables at a breakfast restaurant, he bought a 1989 school bus off Craigslist and imported the first New Zealand made ice cream blending machine into America, thus launching Happy Cones Co and bringing Denver the ice cream he grew up on. On the back of that bus he had the words painted, “Everyone Leaves Happier” and it’s these three words that drives everything we do at Happy Cones! In 2019 he opened America’s first NZ style creamery at the Edgewater Public Market. And our 1989 ice cream bus is still going strong!

WHAT THE ROLE INVOLVES

First and foremost, it involves having fun. Secondly, it's a diverse role that can accommodate a year round flexible schedule. The two components of this role are:

• Ice Cream Maker - Our kitchen is the heart of our little shop, with an open floor plan and floor to ceiling windows, you get lots of time enjoying the shining sun! The ice cream maker is the first person to greet customers as they walk through the doors into the music filled shop.
• Friendly Scooper Star - A big part of the role is scooping up happiness and guiding the guest on their New Zealand ice cream journey, answering questions, and offering recommendations. You'll get energized from creating a memorable experience that has them coming back because you made them feel so welcomed.

WHAT Y'ALL HAVE

• Love to have fun at work!!
• You love to cook and bake. Kitchen experience is preferred but not necessary as long as you're curious and willing to learn.
• We're a tight knit team, so we're looking for someone with a friendly personality, positive outlook that works best in a team environment.
• You're a genuine lover of people who appreciates authentic interactions with guests.
• You have excellent customer service skills and get energized from offering an elevated guest experience.
• You love to take customer complaints as opportunities to create a Happy Cones Co follower.
• You naturally work with a sense of urgency. If you can sing and dance while hustling you're in the right spot!
• Have experience working in a fast paced environment.
• You're comfortable working in an inclusive environment of difference races, genders, religions, sexualities and nationalities.
• And again, like to have fun at work!
