Permitting Specialist - Renewable Energy and Pipelines
In this role, you will work closely with project managers to support a variety of power sector and land development projects in the southeast and mid-Atlantic. The project work will be multi-disciplinary in nature, but experience in PV solar civil design or land development is especially relevant. You will perform project delivery activities including organizing data, performing research/ literature reviews, writing reports and permitting documents, and developing strategies and recommendations for clients.

  • This position can be based anywhere in the Carolinas, Florida or Georgia: Charlotte, NC / Raleigh, NC / Tampa, FL / Atlanta, GA / Jacksonville, FL / Orlando, FL. Remote location will be considered for the right individual.

What you'll be doing:
  • Evaluating federal, state, and local environmental, railroad, building, FAA, and roadway permitting requirements,
  • Review of sediment and erosion control/stormwater preparation plans (SWPPP) and design documents for compliance with submittal requirements
  • Prepare applications and work to obtain required approvals for permits and act as liaison between the company and agency
  • Coordinate with engineers to solve plan deficiencies and mitigate permit comments
  • Produce and maintain schedules for coordination from approval to final stages of permitting process
  • Provide regular updates to project stakeholders - internal and external
  • Serve on project teams, attend meetings, and site visits
  • Closeout of permits, including coordination with agencies, once construction is complete
  • Develop processes, find efficiencies and improvements, and maintain records
What skills you need:
  • Ability to successfully influence outcome with a high level of collaboration
  • Ability to actively develop and maintain agency relationships
  • Capability to assess and resolve issues and conflicts
  • 4-6 years of related experience
  • Knowledge of ArcGIS
