The resident companion shall assist the nursing staff in carrying out designated basic nursing duties for the resident.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sets up, serves, collects, and breaks down meal trays.
- Assists residents with their meals.
- Feeds those residents who are unable to feed themselves.
- Makes unoccupied beds.
- Cleans and organizes the residents' rooms and other areas of the nursing unit.
- Transports residents.
- Distributes water, applies arm bands, and cleans break room.
- Perform other duties as requested.
- Education and Training/Experience
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Customer Service: 1 year
- Verbal ability to communicate with residents
- Ability to understand instructions from the nursing staff
- Must be patient, tactful, and kind when approaching residents
