Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection in the clinic and hospital setting on patients of all ages. Adhering to patient identification and labeling procedures.
- Instruct patient on specimen collection.
- Perform and report limited waived testing for patients, quality control and proficiency material.
- Process patient specimens, maintaining sample integrity; maintain and track collection supplies.
- Communicate with providers, and nurses regarding testing requirements and results.
- Enter and process orders in EHR and LIS.
- Work alongside and assist technical staff, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Attention to detail and ability to organize.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
- Phlebotomy experience.
