Job Description

To perform clerical and patient care support by registering, ordering appropriate supplies, collecting, processing and distributing clinical lab specimens. Provides appropriate handling of patient reactions. Must know and follow State and Federal standards regarding phlebotomy. Ability to answer patient or family member questions within scope of knowledge.

Minimum or Preferred Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required. Unencumbered New York State Driver's License. Graduate of a certified phlebotomy program or one year phlebotomy experience required. Must have the ability to perform all required competencies within the required time frame. Various laboratory & phlebotomy equipment including but not limited to centrifuge, general office equipment. Must successfully complete clerical assessment. Must have basic knowledge of windows based computer applications.
