JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position: Physical Therapy Co-op

Department: Hyde Park Rehab Satellite

Schedule: Full Time

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary job responsibility of the three outpatient co-op students at Boston Medical Center is to assist the rehab therapists with patient treatment programs including therapeutic exercise, functional training, locomotor training, and modalities. Co-op students will work with a wide range of patient diagnoses including musculoskeletal (surgical and non-surgical), neurological, multiple trauma, cardiopulmonary, general medical conditions, lymphedema and pelvic health in a fast-paced environment. Our diversity in patient population creates a "global experience" for all students practicing here. Co-ops will work directly with the clinical staff to assist patients at various stages in their courses of care. Treatments that co-ops administer will be consistent with their level of completed coursework. There are opportunities for further learning including attending departmental in-services, observing PT evaluations, completing independent case studies and observing surgery.

Qualifications: CPR certification, pre-employment physical at Boston Medical Center

Once an offer is accepted, the candidate is required to complete a formal application on the BMC.org website to the Allied Health, Co-op position and complete a pre-employment health assessment with BMC's Occupational & Environmental Health department. The candidate will need to provide documentation of MMR, Hep B and Tetanus vaccinations and complete a TB Skin test prior to beginning your employment. BMC HR Department also conducts an online background check.
