Overview

CHI St. Alexius Health is seeking a Physician Scribe that carries themselves in a professional manner and has quick typing skills! The Physician Scribe will work under the direction of the physician and practice manager in our Family Practice Clinic. This person must be a Certified Medical or Registered Nurse Assistant. As the Physician Scribe, you will be responsible for the accurate translation of medical procedures and diagnosis discussed during treatments or office visits, into the electronic medical record system (EMR) in an accurate and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities Include...
  • Accompany the provider, except where prohibited by a patient’s request or confidentiality requirement, to record accurate documentation of all patient’s visit and procedures into the EMR system.
  • Review content of all client electronic medical records for accuracy and completion prior to submission to the provider for final review and approval in accordance with practice guidelines.
  • Assist in completing the chart by transcribing results of any lab, x-ray, or consultation, and/or other pertinent data into appropriate data fields as required.
  • Record consultations or discussions with the family and/or any other medical or non-medical specialty service. Records diagnosis, discharge, prescriptions, and/or follow-up instructions.
  • Sign and date all entries in the medical record, whether electronic or manual.
  • May be required to assist in the Medical Assistant role, and performs general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
  • May interview patients and verify patient information, confirming purpose of visit.
  • May perform preliminary physical tests, such as, measures blood pressure, records drug allergies, height, weight, temperature, pulse and respirations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by practice manager or physician.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current/valid Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required if applicable. .
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
Preferred:
  • Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS).

Pay Range
$14.86 - $20.43 /hour
