JOB DETAILS

In this position, you will help the Pit Master in all things BBQ; smoking fresh meats daily and prep. This position works side-by-side with the Pit Master. This position involves daily smoking of meats such as Ribs, Brisket, Pork Shoulder Butts, etc. as well as amazing opportunities for recipe creation and the possibility of daily/weekly specials. The Pit Master Apprentice must be able to do the job of the Pit Master in full, and to jump into the role whenever needed. The Pit Master Apprentice also takes care of making sure daily prep is done according to recipes and par lists, as well as the cleanliness of the Prepping area.

This position is an early-morning position, with some shifts starting at 6:00am when the Pit Master is not present, and 8:00am on shifts that work alongside the Pit Master.

Charlie and Jake's is looking for someone with passion and drive, to be apart of a team that cares about the product we produce and puts love in every ounce of food, whether it be our daily-smoked meats, hand-cut steaks, or house-made BBQ Sauce. We need someone that can help lift us to the goals we want to achieve.

REQUIREMENTS:

-Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
-Must be able to stand for long periods of time, up to 9 hours.
-Attention to detail; recipe adherence and cleanliness are extremely important
-Must be able to manage time efficiently.
-Smoke meats daily and prep for the day according to par.
-Manage waste and control product in a way to limit food costs.
-Be responsible for cleaning your area, including the prep area and assisting washing dishes
-Have a great attitude!
