Job description
The Plumbing Support Tech is to assist the Plumbing/HVAC Mechanics and Supervisor with the expectation to learn and practice basic functions of the Plumbing trade.
Major Roles & Responsibilities:
- Set-up and Clean-up of job sites
- Observe to learn the proper use and cleaning of all tools utilized by the BioSpectra Operations department.
- Observe to learn methods of diagnosing/troubleshooting basic Plumbing problems
- Observe to learn BioSpectra procedures and documentation
- Work directly under a technician or supervisor in process areas, learning good process room techniques
- Assists Maintenance in performing basic facilities maintenance duties
- Maintain good housekeeping practices.
- Assist in and learn facility maintenance as required
- Other duties may be assigned as deemed appropriate
- Learning expectations for advancement:
- Learn to measure, cut, thread pipe
- Learn pipe joining and installation of copper, PVC, CPVC, PEX, and black pipe less than 2 ½
- Proper Acetylene torch use for soldering and brazing
- Appliance installation
- Learn proper pipe hanging and support
- Support the Operations Maintenance department for 1 month of preventive maintenance
Qualifications:
- Trade School or Vocational School Preferred
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude
- Able to follow basic and sometimes complex instruction
- Ability to work well with others
- Ability to use power tools and shop tools (if over the age of 18)
- Ability to learn cGMP, QA program and Safety programs
- Able to climb, crawl, bend, and twist throughout entire shift
- Not afraid of heights
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand English
Physical Requirements:
- Lift up to 55 lbs.
- Climb ladders and/or stairs
- Crawl, bend, twist, carry, reach, and kneel throughout shift
- Push and/or pull up to 100 lbs.
- Stand and/or walk for extended periods
- Work with and/or around chemicals and/or hazardous materials
- Repeating motion that may include arms, wrists, hands, and fingers
- Ability to see and distinguish color
- Work in seasonal conditions that may include extreme hot, cold, wind, and precipitation

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
