Salary Range: $34.00 - $34.00 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm

The Porter is responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of the building and sidewalk.

Responsibilities

The Porter is responsible for cleaning elevators, stairways, corridors, windows, glass partitions, floors, restrooms, kitchens/pantries and other areas within the building as assigned by management staff and building superintendent.

The Porter is responsible for the set up and break down of rooms for student activities and special events.

The Porter will sweep, hose the sidewalks and remove snow and spread salt as needed.

The Porter will sort garbage and recyclables as per NYC Sanitation laws before taking them to the sidewalk on specified days.

The lobby is to be kept clean and neat at all times.

Performs other duties as assigned. Heavy lifting may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma and/or its equivalent required.

Excellent communications skills necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of building and maintenance a plus.
