What We Do:
- As a Principal/Senior Gameplay Designer, you will lead the 3Cs (Character, Camera, and Control) and gunplay design for our project, with a passion for creating immersive and engaging gameplay experiences.
- Our ideal candidate is an expert in creating sophisticated gunplay and locomotion to solidify our characters in the environments they inhabit, the successful candidate will be ready to tackle the wide variety of design challenges vital to delivering believability and style across diverse situations and game modes.
- Our Game is developed with Unreal Engine 5 for PC and console platforms.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for delivering intuitive, responsive 3Cs for a 3rd person action shooter which supports and enhances the creative direction of the game product.
- Be our weapon systems expert: Define a process that leads to the creation of the most exciting gunplay for players to enjoy, and iterate on related systems to make sure they meet the game's needs and are of high quality.
- Create, pitch, and prototype gameplay ideas for core combat and moment-to-moment mechanics and systems, combat characters, their feel, behavior, abilities, and encounters in various settings.
- Work closely with our design, art, and programming teams to ensure that the 3Cs and gunplay systems meet the highest standards for quality and performance.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience shipping AAA TPP/FPP shooters titles in combat or gameplay design roles.
- Experienced with AAA play-control logic, especially on a TPS/FPS shooter title. - Deep understanding of creating shooter gameplay from the ground up, not relying on existing core gameplay. Understand game design principles of shooters (either FPS or TPS)
- Knowledge of many types of action games (FPS, TPS, melee combat, ARPG, etc.) and online play (cooperative, competitive, shooter, MMO, etc.)
- Strong portfolio showcasing game design skills and experience with 3C and gunplay systems.
- Passion for creating engaging and immersive gameplay experiences.
Location State(s)
The base pay range for this position in the state(s) above is $126,000 to $231,000 per year. Actual pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign on payment, relocation package, and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, as well as other medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the specific position offered.
