Principal Systems Engineer

Cepeda Systems and Software Analysis, a rapidly growing small company in Huntsville, AL, is currently seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work as part of a team testing a variety of scopes, including testing physical and virtual network systems, software applications, and UAS control interfaces
• Supports complex systems working with multiple operating system types (Windows, Linux, etc.), networking architectures, and across multiple UAS platforms
  
• Participate in Agile Development Process (SCRUM) daily and weekly meetings required to forecast upcoming tasks, and support Integrated Master Scheduling efforts
• Conduct end-user testing to verify and validate that the software works as intended and meets requirements
• Document and track software issues to closure
• Understand what new features are for new contracts, new variants, and new OFP/OFP updates
• Communicate and discuss with PM, government, OEM regarding new features, schedules, risks, funding, and priority
• Defines and traces software requirements to Technical Requirements Document (TRD), training procedures, and Aircrew Training Manual (ATM) tasks
• Create and prioritize backlogs with Trainer SW team for coming phases for builds as required
• Present Phase Review to stakeholders and test readiness at TRR

Requirements and Qualifications:

• US Citizenship required
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline
• Active secret security clearance, or ability to obtain and maintain
  
• 5+ years of experience in software systems testing, software development, and software integration
• Firm understanding of software engineering practices and the software lifecycle
• Ability to interact and work closely with the software development and test teams to assist in acceptance criteria
• Familiarity with working in an Agile/SCRUM environment
• Ability to work in team environments and individually
• Ability to adapt to changing situations and requirements
• Knowledge of aviation terminology
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Communication proficiency
• Excellent time management
• Self-motivated and able to multitask
