Job Description Summary

Coordinate the flow of materials (to suppliers and also within and between departments) according to meet customer demand, utilizing a pull system. Prioritize and expedite materials when necessary. Audit and modify pull system as production demands or production capacity change. Monitor production flow and collaborate with team leads and shop floor technicians to problem solve and address constraints. Plan and schedule material/production needs. Responsible for maintaining and sharing departmental production information and priorities across three shift manufacturing process.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage master planning, material processes and systems, prepare and update production schedules and pull system. Ensure operational alignment with production plan and KPIs.
  • Optimize and audit inventory levels.
  • Communicate clearly to stakeholders on line status
  • Influence key resources to eliminate obstacles
  • Escalate issues where needed to overcome issues
  • Represent operations team in management of change processes for Lean model line
  • Maintain short and long term production plan that will be used for staffing, budget and material planning
  • Problem solve collaboratively on the shop floor to identify and implement process improvements
  • Work on cross-functional projects / teams to improve metrics, safety, shop efficiency, and delivery for the business
  • Utilize analytical thinking skills and technical experience to execute policy/strategy
  • Utilize Lean manufacturing knowledge and experience to meet constantly improve function of the Lean Model Line
  • Collaborates with area technicians, on the shop floor, to grow and develop talent at our site. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field.
  • Conveys performance expectations to a team and may handle sensitive issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years experience in manufacturing leadership or Lean professional role)
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience
