MerchSource, a ThreeSixty Group Company is a $400.0MM consumer products company headquartered in Irvine, California. MerchSource designs and develops consumer products and solutions in the areas of Toys, Home Comfort, Wellness, RC and cross-category gifting. Brands include the iconic FAO Schwarz, Sharper Image, Vornado and Discovery Kids. The company is located in a new, purpose built, research and development campus in Irvine, CA. The new campus employs about 100 team members and is situated in the heart of the developing Southern California tech community.

• 70% Packaging Design Production
• Help design and finalize all packaging artwork, electronic files and prepare for production and printing. Heavy Production for packaging, labels, and sales sheets
• Help and collaborate with Senior Designers, writers, and photographers.
• Art Director photoshoots when needed.
• Work with packaging structural engineer to create white dummies and comps
• Create and implement packaging designs from initial concepts, through design completion, and into manufacturing
• Work with the Packaging Structural Engineer to create comp structures.
• Help concept and design marketing collateral.
• Collaborate with and utilize input from Operations, Product Development, Engineering, Marketing, and Senior Management to implement effective product support and packaging materials.
• Upload artwork for digital routing and moderate feedback
• Implement revision requests to artwork and deliver files to project owners
• Manipulate and track artwork layouts to conform to existing and newly developed die-lines, copy, and/or company strategies
• Develop product renderings and detailed design specifications for internal review and execution by Product Development and Suppliers
• Create mock-ups, prototypes and design renderings for presentation to stakeholders and internal clients.
• Revise and update information on various packaging deliverables and track/report changes

• 30% Digital Asset Creation and Production
• Converting packaging to digital assets for E-comm and other digital needs.
• Creating banners for digital assets. Light retouching and photo editing for digital needs.
• Help concept and create social assets for the top 3 brands

SKILLS

• Proficiency with Adobe Create Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign MS Office, PowerPoint, Sketch, KeyShot a big plus.
• Experience with the printing & prepress process including various press types
• Knowledge in a wide range of printing techniques, construction techniques, and materials used for packaging
• Fundamentals with web, photography and color corrections
• Excellent sketching, 2D, and 3D visualization skills
• Working knowledge of 3D rendering software like KeyShot and Rhino or similar is a plus.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
• Effective at multitasking and ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
• Detail oriented with understanding of consistency towards brand guidelines
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Effective in a fast-paced environment and ability to meet deadlines
• Understanding of CMYK color space, as well as UV GLOSS/FOIL/Pantone Color setup
• Ability to work hands-on and implement feedback

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Graphic Design
• 2-8 years of experience at an advertising agency, communications, or production company, or in-house
• Experience working in the Consumer Electronics and Toy industry, strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of retail, design, and technology trends digital design experience a plus.
