JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

**** This is a swing shift position. Normal schedule is from 11AM to 7:30PM M - F. This position will be require to fill in for both 1st and 2nd shift Production Superviors during vacation and scheduled time off. 1st shift hours are 7:00AM to 3:30PM. 2nd Shift is from 3:15PM - 11:45PM. Overtime is required during peak operations.

The Production Shift Supervisor will support the Plant Manager in managing the production department (tube mill operators) in order to reach the company goals assigned to them. They will be responsible for all manufacturing operations on their assigned shift under the leadership of the Plant Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*

• Manage, supervise and lead the production personnel (tube mill operators), ensuring production is carried out in a timely manner and according to the quality requirements of the standards and specifications
• Coordinate with the Plant Manager to solve unforeseen challenges, both according to predetermined methods and by proposing new solutions
• Manage the projects assigned to them
• Ensure the production area is clean and in good order, properly managing production wastes
• Actively participate in all proposals and projects aimed at improving the manufacturing process
• Manage minimum stock of production consumables
• Report to the Plant Manager any lack and error the production department might have with regards to HR, safety, quality, environment and manufacturing
• Ensure the transferring of their technical and professional skills to the tube mill operators
• Coordinate and manage the start of production
• Prepare the sets of forming rolls and all the necessary tools for each production, as indicated on the Setup Datasheet
• Verify all activities performed by the tube mill operators, checking their accuracy and effective execution
• Support the tube mill operators during machine setups
• Manage and deliver the production documents to the appropriate departments
• Manage the building’s mechanical & electrical systems
• Secure the building nightly
• Any and all other duties assigned to them

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of five years experience in a manufacturing environment (8 – 10 years preferred) (metals industry a plus)
• Experience in a leadership role (2+ years preferred)
• Must be able to build, maintain and contribute to a team environment
• Is willing to lead by example and demonstrate servant-leadership
• Is willing to resolve problems in a respectful manner
• Individual desires to promote the collective interests of the team more than self-interest
• Has technical expertise in functional area
• Excellent organizational skills, communication skills, the ability to multi-task and work well as a team
• Good people management skills and overall business managerial skills
• Must be able to read and write clearly in English

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

• This position is largely self-directed and requires understanding of company policy, procedures and values.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Travel is required as needed

• Hourly rate starting at $26.79
