Production Technician – Medical Device

Job Located in Newnan, GA

PURPOSE OF JOB:

Responsible for producing medical devices in a cleanroom environment. Also,, providing manufacturing line support. Cross train to serve as a floater across multiple positions, but specifically in production scheduling, as needed.

Essential DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand measuring tools and equipment and maintain production tooling
  • Proficient basic math
  • Ability to read and follow work orders
  • Good hand/eye coordination
  • Carry out manufacturing processes
  • Ensure cleanliness of product and preventing contamination
  • Maintaining and recording product identification and traceability
  • Establishing and maintaining production records
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings to assemble devices.
  • Identify and pull appropriate parts from inventory to initiate assemblies.
  • Track process with Bill of Materials documentation.
  • Assemble sub-components and devices as per approved processes and BOMs.
  • Identify potential problems with parts that could lead to quality issues.
  • Works efficiently to meet production deadlines.
  • Coordinate with the appropriate departments to facilitate quality, smooth production processes and accurate inventory.
  • Performs inventory cycle counts.
  • Maintains inventory control (F.I.F.O system)
  • Follow and maintain the approved documentation process.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance.
  • Update Production Manager of work status or problems, with recommendations for improvement or correction.
  • In conjunction with Manufacturing staff, identify tooling, machines or fixtures which optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Mechanically inclined a plus
  • Other duties may be assigned (this job is likely to be cross-trained for multiple floater type positions throughout the facility – flexibility a must)

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Normal working hours are 8:00am until 4:30pm, Monday through Friday (unless required to work on Saturday and/or Sunday), including rest and meal breaks. Note that due to the nature of the work, the hours may be modified at the request of Operations/Engineering management.

SUPERVISION AND DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY:

Required to work under close supervision while following established procedures on routine work, with little or no role in decision making. Work is subject to frequent review. Limited judgement required as decisions are made within established policies and standard practices.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

High School graduate or equivalent required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the medical device industry required. Must have experience with fabrication, equipment, or tight tolerance assembly, as well as experience with machine tool operation. Must be able to work on problems requiring the exercise of considerable autonomy, judgment, and expertise.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess the manual dexterity and visual acuity to work with small assemblies and sub-assemblies. Incumbent will be required to use manual and automated machinery, microscopes, a computer keyboard and basic computer equipment. Incumbents may be required to wear clean room attire and follow clean room practices and regulations. May be required to lift up to 10 pounds, unaided.
